Can you sponser me in the Dragon Boat races?
It is that time of year again and I hope you can find it in your budget and heart to make a small donation to my paddling efforts in this year's Dragon Boat races on September 9, 2017 at Warrior's Path Park. Our team "Human Remains: The Paddling Dead" finished 5th out of 30+ boats last year and we hope to improve on that this year.
The 2017 Dragon Boat Festival benefits the Circle of Hope, a program that provides extra resources for cancer patients and families who may need financial help while receiving medical care. Here is more information on Cicle of Hope.
Circle of Hope
Being diagnosed with cancer is difficult. The Circle of Hope fund has provided financial assistance to hundreds of patients who meet eligibility criteria during their treatment.
The funds are often used for expenses associated with cancer care such as gas vouchers, taxi fares, non-covered medications, nutritional expenses and personal care items. The Circle of Hope fund is here to make the financial burdens a little easier during treatment.
The Regional Cancer Center meets other needs for patients in the form of equipment and supplies. Community assistance will allow us to better serve patient needs and provide patients with a better experience during their care.
Unfortunately, many of us have witnessed the struggles of friends and loved ones or have personal experience with cancer. My fundraising is to help alleviate some of the stress associated with this battle so patients can focus on the fight and not how they are going to pay for unexpected expenses.
